Played & Remade
in collaboration with
Gary Leddington
Leddington Guitars is a small one man shop based in the historic city of Bath, United Kingdom, and is specialised in custom hand built guitars, cases, boutique picks and repair work. Leddington's passion is to create hand built instruments that follow on from the American tradition of luthiery whilst at the same time adding a modern look and feel with custom designs and ideas.
This guitar was made in collaboration with The Piano Shop Bath as part of their Played & Remade project and was constructed, for the most part, with salvaged wood and components from scrapped pianos.
A european spruce and walnut Model - O with brazilian rosewood bridge, fingerboard and bindings, dyed maple headstock veneer and end wedge (with original brass inlays, see below), rosewood and brass rosette, brass purfling and custom brass tuner buttons. Some notable elements include, the visible finger joint on the back of the headstock from where the original boards were joined, piano key celluloid GL logo, the original brass fallboard inlays on the headstock veneer / model name inlays on the end wedge and the custom tuner buttons, also made from repurposed piano brass.
Every piece in our Played & Remade collection is individually handcrafted from recycled piano materials. Each work carries its own character and story; for bespoke pricing and purchase details, we invite you to contact us directly.
